July 21, 2016 – A warm welcome to BINUS SCHOOL Serpong students and parents! After a well-deserved school holiday, it’s time to start a new exciting beginning. Harry Wong, a famous education speaker and author said, “The most important day of a person’s education is the first day of school, not Graduation Day.”
It’s time for new teachers, new friends, new classrooms, and perhaps a new school for our new BINUSIANS. It may cause a bit of anxiety to enter a new environment. However, don’t let anxiety diminish your enthusiasm for the first day of school.
BINUS SCHOOL Serpong has prepared a series of fun activities to ease your first steps in BINUS. It started with Middle and High School assembly which was livened by the students’ dance performance, live band, and Beevolution committee flash mob. Then, a series of orientation for both parents and students followed. This session informed new parents and students about the school’s essential information as well as the introduction of teachers.
Ms. Elsie L. Bait our ECY/EL Principal advices parents to let the students be independent and happy from their first day of school, because they are in the good hands of BINUSIAN teachers. While BINUS SCHOOL Serpong’s MS/HS principal Ms. Sherrie Garcia requested the students to keep in mind the 7 keys of success, which are : to be confident, take time to reflect, nurture your compassion, find ways to innovate, value integrity, take responsibility, and engage with people around you.
After the information session, the students are invited to get to know their peers through a Harry Potter-themed fun “Acquaintance Day” event. From the very first moment at BINUS, various exciting games were arranged to break the ice between students. It’s best to create genuine friendship among students as soon as the school starts!
BINUSIANS, please always remember this quote from Anthony J. D’Angelo, “Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine.” Once more, welcome and welcome back to BINUS SCHOOL Serpong. Thank you for being a part of our vibrant, innovative and caring community.
