PSG Series: Used Uniform Donation by BINUSIANS in BINUS SCHOOL Serpong

The Used Uniform Donation 2016 is a genuine initiative from BINUS SCHOOL Serpong’s Parent Support Group (PSG) G since 3 years ago.  Back then, it was initiated by Ibu Christina & this time, the PIC for ECY/EL was Ibu Sarah Tobing.

BINUS SCHOOL Serpong’s students are very blessed to be able to study in a comfortable & nurturing environment wherein there are a lot of amenities.  In contrast, many of Indonesian students aren’t as fortunate. Hence, the main objective of this donation is to increase students’ social awareness and be for students to be more grateful with what they have.

The parents donated the used uniforms, lunch boxes, water bottle, and school bags of their children to the PSG Officers. They were then collected and shipped to schools in Labuan Bajo, Larantuka, Maumere, and West Manggarai (East Nusa Tenggara Province). The donated items were distributed to SD Naga, SD Ndeweng Rangga, SD Sano Nggoang, and SMP Nunang. The PSG chose schools in the eastern part of Indonesia because the access to the area is very limited, hence the available assistance for students over there are still minimum.

Mr. Adolfus Nafdihim, the Principal of SDI Ndeweng, sent a heart-touching letter to BINUS SCHOOL Serpong to express his gratitude of the donation. In his letter, he mentioned about the unfortunate condition of his school, such as very limited availability of classrooms, books, computers, and other supporting school facilities. The students of SDI Ndeweng also have to walk for at least 1500 meters each day to go to school. Mr. Adolfus is confident that through the assistance of BINUS SCHOOL Serpong, his students may be able to compete for being one of the best schools in the area.

PSG moms hope that through this Used Uniform Donation, students learn the beauty & value of sharing. Hopefully they can understand that awareness and support from BINUSIANS mean a lot for them. Here is a very meaningful quote from Brian Tracy, “Love only grows by sharing. You can only have more for yourself by giving it away to others.”

-About Parent Support Group (PSG)-

Children are spending most of their time in developing themselves through various learning curves. One of the learning methods is through attending school. Hence, students often spend a large portion of their time at school.

BINUS SCHOOL Serpong understood that parents need to be more involved during children education process at school. Hence Parent Support Group (PSG) is created. Every BINUSIAN parent is a part of PSG. The PSG creates various events to educate children affectively and strengthen family bonds & nationalism, such as national batik showcase, grade level workshops, charity programs, academic programs and teacher appreciation day.

The ECY/EL Chairperson of PSG is Ms. Brilyantini. While Ms. Erwinanda is in charge in leading the MS/HS parents.  Our PSG Officers voluntarily contribute their time and energy to support BINUSIAN parents and students. Let’s support them back by being actively involved in their exciting events!
