BINUS SCHOOL Serpong would like to share a good news came from our students who participated in the 8th World Mathematics Team Championship (WMTC) in Bangkok, Thailand last 9-13 Nov 2017.
Total of 1194 participants, 134 teams, from 21 different countries (Australia, Bulgaria, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, USA, Vietnam and many more) participated this year. There are 3 different level divisions of competition: Junior Level, Intermediate Level and Advance Level. The WMTC differs from most of the other Math competitions in the sense that it puts more emphasis on teams than on individuals. Thus, there are 3 rounds of competition: Individual Round, Relay Round and Team Round. For the awards, they give both individual and team awards.
This was BINUS SCHOOL Serpong first ever participation in the Mathematics competition abroad and we sent 2 teams (12 students) for the Intermediate Level. One of them, Fadlan Dimas Rizadha Fadli (10K) won the Bronze medal for the Individual Award. The other students received merit certificates.
Thank you for all the supports and prayers given to our students. Hopefully more good news will come in the future.
