Education is the key to unlocking the world, a passport to freedom. – Oprah Winfrey
The Sjuman hall swirled with maroon and black graduation gowns with the grade 12s’ ‘glittering dreams’. Surrounded by their proud family, they just got the golden ticket to higher education. The years in BINUS SCHOOL Serpong have been tough and their efforts have brought them here.
The graduation will feel incomplete without the opening greetings from Ms. Sherrie. She said, “What does success look like to you? Because until this time, your goal was just to finish high school? You are on the verge of really preparing to build a life of your own. It’s your road and yours alone. Others may walk with you but no one can walk it for you.” She encouraged the students to overcome challenges, be ambitious and driven, connect with people and learn, keep their relationships positive, be mindful and practice empathy, and be humble and compassionate.
The graduating BINUSIANS also prepared a performance for their parents and audiences. And the most touching moment was when they sung “A Million Dreams” from The Greatest Showman, as accompanied by our orchestra.
Then, led by Ms. Mariza, every graduate recited their alumni pledge to work harder and to remain loyal to BINUS SCHOOL Serpong. Thank you, students, for your greatest efforts throughout your studies. Thank you, teachers, for your passion, love, and patience in teaching our young BINUSIANS. Thank you, parents, for supporting your children to reach their dreams and trusting BINUS SCHOOL Serpong. A standing ovation for everyone!
