PSG Series: Eid Al-Fitr Donation, Charity begins at Home

The first event arranged by both ECY/EL and MS/HS PSG Committee this year is the Eid Al-Fitr donation for BINUS SCHOOL Serpong’s outsourced workers. They are the ISS workers, security guards, maintenance staff, the drivers and the nurses.  They have been wholeheartedly assisting the daily activities within the school. Therefore, the essence of this donation is to appreciate their hard work and hospitality towards BINUSIANS.

The Eid Al-Fitr donation is an annual event spearheaded by  the Parent Support Group (PSG). Even though Eid Al-Fitr has already passed, the spirit of Ramadan remains in our souls.  The parents and students of BINUS SCHOOL Serpong were encouraged to share their voluntary monetary donations. The PSG Officers have willingly shared a lot of their time in taking turns to stay at the donation booths around the school to accept contributions.

In the Eid l-Fitr donation, the PSG managed to raise more than 85 million rupiahs.  The sum then being distributed evenly for more than 200 BINUS SCHOOL Serpong’s outsourced workers. The Student Council Officers also took part in distributing the donation to the happy recipients. Look at those wide smiles of the extended family members of BINUS SCHOOL Serpong!

Thank you so much PSG for your hard work in strengthening the bonds within the BINUSIAN family. You are indeed super moms! Leonardo Dicaprio even said that, “My mother is a walking miracle”. We are looking forward to your next miracles!

What is Parent Support Group?

Children spend most of their time in developing themselves through various learning curves. One of the learning methods is through attending school. Hence, the students often spend a large portion of their time at school.

BINUS SCHOOL Serpong understands that parents need to be more involved during  their children’s education process at school. Hence, the Parent Support Group (PSG) is created. Every BINUSIAN parent is part of the PSG. The PSG Parents Support Group (PSG) is formed to enhance the participation and partnership between parents and the School to further enrich the learning community of BINUS SCHOOL Serpong based on voluntary participation. PSG creates various events to educate children affectively and strengthen family bonds, such as national batik showcase, grade level workshops, and teacher’s appreciation day, to name a few.

PSG is led by PSG Chairpersons. For ECY/EL, the Chairperson is Ms. Brilyantini. While Ms. Erwinanda is in charge to lead MS/HS parents.  Let’s support them by being actively involved in their exciting events!
