The Little Mermaid Production
Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of BINUS SCHOOL Serpong, our BINUSIAN family held one of the biggest school productions ever. Students from ECY to High School, teachers, and even parents collaborated in the production entitled, “The Little Mermaid”. The musical drama was composed of over 280 performers including the orchestra and choir. The production transformed the Sjuman Hall into an amazing ocean floor filled with sea creatures. The production team prepared for “The Little Mermaid” for more than 9 months, with intense rehearsals for 3 months. Every detail from costumes, decorations, and make-up was conceptualised and created by BINUSIANS.
“I’m glad to participate in this wonderful production “The Little Mermaid”, because I managed to meet and learn from my peers and teachers. Simultaneously, I gained confidence and learned a lot about teamwork. I hope that BINUS SCHOOL Serpong will continue to provide the best education for its students and I always believe that BINUS has the potential to fulfill that vision, “said Lucrezia Adora Ng, the main cast, Ariel, in The Little Mermaid.
“The Little Mermaid” tells about the adventure of a young mermaid, Ariel, in finding her true love. Ariel is the youngest daughter of King Triton, the emperor of the sea. Unlike her sisters, Ariel does what her heart desires rather than his father’s wishes. One day, she swam up to the surface and saved Prince Eric from the sea storm. Ariel instantly fell in love with him. Thus, she ran away from her father and made a fatal agreement with Ursula, the Wicked Witch of the Sea, to get the life which she envisioned on land.
“Until now I am still amazed by the potential of BINUS SCHOOL Serpong. The school has abundant potential to put together this musical production. In addition, every young BINUSian, including my child, has been learning very important life skills throughout her studies here, such as organisation, teamwork, creativity exploration, and talent development. I hope the school will hold such productions more often, “commented Margie Hardian, one of the parents performer.
Through “The Little Mermaid” production, BINUS SCHOOL Serpong students and teachers have shown what world class is all about! Kudos to Ms Myrna Araneta, the school director, and all the ECY-HS performers, production crew and staff!
