Indonesia 74th Independence Day and Indonesian Cultural week
The most historical day for us, Indonesians, when Ir. Soekarno proclaimed the Independence of Indonesia on 17 August 1945 Indonesia.
To celebrate this special day, our school held several festive events from the second week of August. We held traditional dancing and national anthems singing competition for ECY and EL, as well as also tumpeng decorating competition for MS and HS. There was so much enthusiasm and excitement from our students who participated. HSHS had a joint celebrations for Indonesian Independence Day and Indonesian Cultural Week. Co-celebrating these two events in an assembly showcased Indonesia’s fight for freedom and its rich culture through songs and dances.
The School held a Flag Raising Ceremony to honour Indonesia’s heroes, and to symbolise unity and patriotism. It is a reminder of how proud we are as Indonesian people, and how far we have come as a free nation.
“Never once leaving history. Great nation is a nation that respects the services of the hero.” -Ir. Soekarno.
