The Hero of Kindness
The majority of orangutans (90%) are situated in Indonesia (Indonesian Borneo-Kalimantan and Sumatra), while the remaining 10% can be found in Sabah and Sarawak in Malaysia. Orangutans are a keystone species. As orangutans disappear, it signals the disappearance of thousands of other animals and plant species in the fragile tropical rain forest. In saving orangutans and their habitats, we save those species that co-exist with them.
We are reminded to support this foundation by our Hero of Kindness, Micah Santoso Utomo of EL 4A. We have been inspired to help the orangutans as much as we can because of him. He has been very passionate about helping these animals despite his very young age. Apart from supporting orangutans, Micah has also done something unexpected in our school. With his little hands and big heart, he collects the used lunch boxes and brings them back to the cafeteria vendors. He does this even when nobody tells him. By himself, This remarkable selfless act has caught on with our other students.
We are more than proud to have Micah in our school and to have him as our model of Moral Character and Innovative Leadership as per our school’s vision. Let’s spread kindness everywhere #BINUSIANs.
