Today, with several vaccines having been successfully created, there appears to be a ray of hope as the pandemic seems to have been gradually brought under control. However, countries now know the value of being cautious despite eager sentiments to reinstate normalcy and return to the old ways. The world instead is focused on the buzzword that dominated much of last year – the “new normal” that we need to create. As communities gear up for post pandemic life, the theme for this year’s HC-APYLS – Re: Imagining, Building, Uniting – echoes a similar resolve.
“Re:” represents the collective values that we now hold even closer to us after our experiences with containing the pandemic.
“Re:” is symbolic of the power of the human spirit – the inner light that spurs us to make decisive changes to reinvent a better future, one that will not be easily extinguished in the face of crises.
