Teacher’s Spotlight : Mr. Puguh

Hello, I am Mr. Puguh, and I am an English language teacher here in BINUS SCHOOL Serpong.

I earned my Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Linguistics from a reputable institution in Singapore and have taught in different schools across Indonesia. I became a teacher in BINUS SCHOOL Serpong more than 8 years ago and I love the work that I do here.

I have always believed that being a teacher is not just a profession. To me, teaching is about working with the hearts of children. Being a teacher is not only about transferring knowledge to my students. Teaching, above all else, is about facilitating students to become better thinkers, learners, and, last but not least, better human beings. Simply put, being a teacher is about connecting minds and nurturing hearts.

Being a teacher enables me to connect with many different students and this allows me to better understand their thoughts and perspectives. Through their lens, I am able to get a better understanding of their struggles or challenges in learning. In turn, these help me to be more creative in my lessons so as to cater to the different needs of my students in the class.

There is never a dull moment in the classroom. Each student is unique and working closely with these beautiful young minds gives me the drive and enthusiasm every single day.

As an educator, I value critical thinking. When you step into my classroom, you will find a class that is full of life where students are engaged in hands-on activities and discussions that stimulate their minds. Through my years of experience, I have seen how such innovative strategies not only develop my students’ critical thinking skills but also hone their communication and interpersonal skills.
