From a young age, Annisa Luthfya Amani displayed an extraordinary talent for gymnastics. Embarking on her gymnastic journey from the age of 8-9, she quickly rose to prominence and achieved remarkable success in international competitions. Now a student in grade 9 at BINUS SCHOOL Serpong, Annisa’s story serves as a testament to the incredible journeys that talent can lead us on.
Annisa’s journey began with her participation in a friendly competition among gymnastics clubs. Even in this early stage, her talent and dedication shone through, paving the way for her future accomplishments. Most recently, she clinched a gold medal at the prestigious PAN Gymnastic Invitational in Singapore. Adding to her accolades, she also secured two medals at the Prime Gymnastic Invitational held in Jakarta, which attracted international participants from Singapore, the Philippines, and Australia.
When asked about her interest in gymnastics, Annisa attributed her inspiration to videos she watched on YouTube. However, she soon discovered that gymnastics was a unique and lesser-known sport in Indonesia. Annisa commented, “In Indonesia, there is a lack of awareness and understanding about gymnastics.”
While skillfully managing the life of an athlete, Annisa has also been a student at BINUS SCHOOL Serpong since the first grade. The school not only provided her with a nurturing academic environment but also enabled her to forge friendships with fellow gymnasts.
Annisa expressed her gratitude for the school’s emphasis on hard work and the pursuit of one’s passion. This mindset proved invaluable in overcoming the challenges she faced in numerous competitions. Additionally, her teacher, Mr. Luke, introduced her to the merit system and consistently offered words of encouragement. Through the implementation of a merit-based system, students who have accomplished notable achievements will receive acknowledgement and be presented with awards by BINUS SCHOOL Serpong at the end of the semester.
