Harvard World Model United Nations Indonesia at BINUS SCHOOL Serpong

BINUS SCHOOL Serpong was proud to host the Harvard World Model United Nations (WorldMUN) Indonesia Conference, marking the first time this prestigious conference has been held in Indonesia. Over the course of three days, our campus welcomed more than 120 student delegates from across the country, providing a meaningful learning experience for our students through active participation, collaboration, and global engagement.
Learning Through Global Simulation
Harvard World Model United Nations is a globally recognised international relations simulation organised annually by students of Harvard University in partnership with a local host team. Bringing together over 2,000 delegates from more than 110 countries worldwide, the conference offers students the opportunity to explore global issues by simulating the work of the United Nations and other multilateral organisations.
For our students, participation in WorldMUN Indonesia served as an experiential learning opportunity—encouraging them to apply knowledge, develop informed perspectives, and engage in respectful dialogue on real-world challenges.

A Campus Transformed into a Learning Community
By hosting Harvard WorldMUN Indonesia, BINUS SCHOOL Serpong became an active learning space where students learned beyond the classroom. Throughout the conference, delegates took part in structured debates, collaborative problem-solving, and reflective discussions that required them to listen carefully, communicate effectively, and work constructively with peers from diverse backgrounds.
This experience supported the development of student voice, confidence, and responsibility, as learners were encouraged to express ideas thoughtfully and consider multiple viewpoints.

Skills Developed Through Experience
Through participation in Harvard WorldMUN Indonesia, students strengthened essential skills that support both academic growth and personal development, including:
- Critical and ethical thinking
- Clear and confident communication
- Collaboration and leadership
- Global awareness and intercultural understanding
These skills are cultivated through authentic experiences that challenge students to think deeply and act responsibly.

Preparing Students for a Connected World
Harvard WorldMUN is more than a conference—it is a powerful learning experience that encourages students to reflect on their role in a wider global community. By engaging with complex global issues and working alongside peers from different regions, students develop empathy, adaptability, and a sense of responsibility toward others.
BINUS SCHOOL Serpong is proud to provide learning opportunities such as Harvard WorldMUN Indonesia that empower students to grow as thoughtful, engaged, and globally minded learners.
