Today’s young generation carries an ever-growing responsibility to understand, adapt to, and actively contribute to a rapidly shifting world — from food security and public health to inclusive economic growth.

Rising to that challenge, BINUS SCHOOL Education once again reaffirms its commitment to shaping future-ready leaders by hosting the Asia-Pacific Young Leaders Convention (APYLC) 2026. Held from April 20 to 24, 2026, at BINUS SCHOOL Serpong, this international forum brings together senior high school delegates from across the Asia-Pacific region to collaborate, broaden their global perspectives, and craft solutions to the defining issues of our time.

Now in its ninth year, APYLC 2026 brings together four schools from across the region under a single, urgent theme. Delegates are invited to examine pressing global issues through the lens of three United Nations Sustainable Development Goals:

“This year’s theme reflects the importance of a holistic approach to global challenges. Through this platform, we want to inspire young people to understand the complexity of today’s global landscape and develop solutions that are not only innovative, but truly sustainable.”

Sherrierose Garcia Gonzales — Director, BINUS SCHOOL Education

Ms. Sherrie added her hope that participants would use the convention not merely as a learning opportunity, but as a springboard for real ideas and tangible action.

The convention’s opening ceremony on Monday, April 20, was graced by Irene Umar, Vice Minister of the Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, who delivered the keynote address. She underscored the vital role of collaboration and empathy in tackling global issues.

“APYLC is more than a forum — it is the starting point for young people to begin claiming their role in shaping the future they wish to create. Addressing global challenges cannot be done in isolation. It requires deep collaboration and a genuine understanding of the problems within our communities, so that together we can create meaningful impact.”

Irene Umar — Vice Minister of Creative Economy, Republic of Indonesia

Through APYLC 2026, BINUS SCHOOL Education continues its mission of delivering learning experiences that are relevant to global realities — fostering leadership development and cross-cultural collaboration at the highest level. Delegates leave not only with a broadened worldview, but with the conviction and tools to make a meaningful difference in the world ahead.
